The Bowditch Method
I had a client session yesterday which really struck me on just how powerful the work I do is. The message I really want to get out there is please consider the holistic route. I feel very strongly that, if I had seen this client nearer their traumatic event then I would have been able to help them at that time and they would not be suffering now, years later, whilst mainstream medicine tries to sort out their medication, which I can clearly see is causing them all sorts of problems. Don’t get me wrong, I recognise the benefits of mainstream medicine but in some cases, in fact in many cases, times have moved on and there are other incredible methods that don’t cause all sorts of side effects but get down to the problem and resolve it.
The work I do is more, far more, than hypnotherapy. I work in a unique way and have powerful therapies to back up my work. I am a member and trainer of the General Hypnotherapy Register but my work is far more entailed than that. People often separate hypnotherapy from conventional therapy but I see my work as the deepest level of healing and solution focussed. I get to the root of the problem and we resolve it. Using my methods and approach I have often seen dramatic transformations in people very quickly. In some ways I often find what may be considered the more challenging or deeply affected people are those I can help make the biggest changes for. As my client (below) said in her testimonial about my work “better than any ‘standard’ type of therapy“.
My method is my method. Although I am qualified in many therapies, my work is unique. So am I a hypnotherapist, a therapist or a counsellor? To a degree my work involves all of these and more. More important than the label, is that I see myself as someone that can help people, often when they have searched everywhere else without success they come to me as a last resort. I don’t mind that, although for their sake, I wish they had come earlier.
I don’t sit and analyse you, I don’t put you and your symptoms in a box. I seek a solution. We are a team and you play your part in the healing process.
Sometimes people have had unsuccessful experience of hypnotherapy previously through another practitioner but I explain that the way I work is different. This is partly because of the way my mind works in understanding my client’s problems, perhaps something I cannot bottle and sell unfortunately. However, this is also because I use a range of therapies and can easily adjust a session based on what is presented to me. So my work is adaptable and focussed on you and your problems with a view to working towards a solution.
Something what seems to surprise people is that I am extremely experienced in dealing with traumas and emotional issues. At first they apologise and then I explain that there is nothing to apologise for. Actually it was a good thing that they were emotional because it meant that we could do some great work to resolve that issue for them, often issues they believed (prior to the session) had been dealt with but subconsciously it had not. It was still impacting them mentally, emotionally and physically sometimes. Even if you feel consciously you have resolved an issue you have not resolved it subconsciously and it is hurting you.
The change in someone can often be noticeable between the start of the session, resolving an issue and the end of a session. Their whole face and body structure/posture has changed. They report feeling lighter very often. They may feel quite tired but I explain “this is a good thing because you have resolved something, tiredness is resolution, you are in the healing process”.
The subconscious can be compared to a hard-drive or a library of your life experiences – all your life events are stored there. These may include:
- Big and Little Traumas (from being shouted at to being in an accident or being attacked).
- Comments made by others
- Things you’ve heard from others which becomes learned behaviour eg worry/fear
- Every life experience – good and bad
Here is my video of the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind and your interpretation of events is fundamental in how you function and your belief system.
That Added Extra
I am honest to you, I don’t beat around the bush. I am passionate about my work and sometimes I do get on my soapbox but that’s because I have a listening ear, someone pleased to hear that I understand them, they are not going mad, they are a good person and there is hope. That’s so important, there is hope.
Clients have sometimes commented that they find discussion with me during the therapy session as beneficial as the therapy itself. Any questions I ask you are relevant to that success and not part of a box ticking exercise.
“I was recommended to see Ann by a friend and it was the best recommendation I’ve ever had! For years I’ve battled on and off with an eating disorder and really low moods which I could never seem to completely shift… until I started sessions with Ann! Hypnotherapy and colour work we did worked so much better than any ‘standard’ type of therapy I had been sent to before and seemed to help from the inside out. I feel happier and more level headed than I have done for years and would recommend it to anyone.” Lu
What does it require from you?
It requires you to contact me and commit to your sessions. An open mind helps but I’ve seen skeptical people transformed and definitely surprised by my work. There is no magic really to my work but at times it can be incredibly powerful especially when you embrace the process.
